Central News Agency, which is known as an institution today, was founded in the 1930s in Shimla by the eldest of the Puri brothers, the late Balak Ram Puri. His love of reading and passion for books led him to start a mail order business for books and magazines by well known inspirational writers of the day, like James Allen, Orison Swett Marden and Bernor McFadden. Later, as the orders increased and the work showed a promising future, his younger brothers R.P. And B.S were inducted into the business. Under their dynamic leadership and guidance from the founder, CNA grew to become the institution that it is today.
